When it comes to American cuisine I don't think it gets any better than meatloaf. However, meatloaf can get a little boring at times. That's why I like to play with my food so to speak and make things like this delectable Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf.
It has all of the great flavor of a juicy burger with the family-friendly convenience of the beloved meatloaf. I can't wait to share this super fun recipe with you so...
Let's Get Started!
Bacon Cheeseburger Recipe:
*Prep Time: 15 minutes *Cook Time: 1 hour *Difficulty: Easy *Servings 6-8
Ingredients:
- 2 lb Ground Beef
- 2 Eggs, slightly beaten
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2/3 c. Oats
- 1 tbsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tsp. Parsley
- 1 tsp. Oregano
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Black Ground Pepper
- 2 c. Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/4 c. Ketchup
- 1/4 c. Mustard
- 6 Slices of Thick Cut Bacon
To begin you will need to preheat the oven 350 degrees.
Then, in a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, milk, oats, onion powder, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Then gently mix it with your hands until everything is well combined together.
You don't want to over mix your meat because it will result in a tough meatloaf, and no one likes a tough meatloaf.
Now for the sauce. After all, you can't have a good meatloaf without a great sauce.
In a bowl combine the ketchup and mustard.
I mean, if we are going to have a great "burger" you need to have the ultimate condiments.
Now back to the meat mixture.
Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
Place the meat mixture on it, press it out flat, and make a well in the middle.
In the well add the shredded cheddar cheese.
Now take the sides and fold them up and over the cheese to for a loaf.
Pour the sauce onto the entire loaf and brush it all over.
Next take the bacon and wrap them around the loaf, tucking them under it.
Place the Bacon Cheese Burger Meatloaf in the 350 degree oven and bake it for 1 hour.
If the bacon is not as crisp as you would like, place it under the broiler for a a few minutes.
After the Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf has finished cooking, let it rest for 10 minutes, slice, and serve! This meatloaf is everything you can imagine a great burger to me. Juicy, cheesy, tangy, smokey, and crisp. I know you and anyone you serve it to is going to devour it, so get in the kitchen and give this Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf a try TONIGHT!
And as always...
