Homemade Pizza Dough

This recipe is so simple you will never feel the need to buy a box or canned dough again!  With just a few simple ingredients you will be making a delicious, made-from-scratch pizza dough that is perfect for pizza, calzones, and so much more!

Let me show you how easy this is!
Homemade Pizza Dough:
*Prep Time:  1 hr. 15 min.  *Cook Time:  15 min.  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:  1 Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 1/2-3 1/2 c. flour
  • Corn Meal
Tools:
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Kitchenaid Stand Mixer
  • Rolling Pin

To begin place the yeast in the bowl of the mixer.

Add the warm water.

Allow the yeast 10 minutes to activate.
You will know that it is alive and active when it begins to foam.

Once the yeast is active, add the salt

and olive oil.

Add one cup of the flour, lower the hook,

And let mix on 2 for 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes, add the rest of the four, a 1/2 cup at a time.

Allow the dough to mix on level 2 until all the flour is combined and the bowl is clean.

Place in a greased bowl and turn it once so that the top becomes greased as well.

Cover with a towel and place in a warm spot for one hour.

The dough should double in size.

Punch the dough down.

Spread some corn meal onto a board to keep the dough from sticking and help it to be easily moveable.

Turn the dough out onto the cornmeal and roll out.

You can transfer this to a baking pan or stone and cook, with toppings, at 450 degrees for 15- 20 minutes.  It is also delicious on the grill!

See how easy that was!  Now you give it a try!

As always,
