  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2/3 cup Quick Cooking Oats
  • 1 Onion, grated or use dried minced onion
  • 1 packet of Brown Gravy Mix 
  • 1 tsp. Parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup (for topping)
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar (for topping)
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard (for topping)





INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Preheat the Oven:  Start by preheating your oven to 350°F/175°C.  Line a baking sheet with parchment for easy removal.  
  2. Mix the Ingredients:  In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, quick oats, grated onion (or dried mined onion, milk eggs, gravy mix packet, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper.  Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed, but ce careful not to overwork the meat mixture, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
  3. Shape the Meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture to the baking sheet. Press it into a loaf shape.
  4. Prepare the Topping:  In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.  Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake:  Place the meatloaf in a preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F/7`°C.  The top should be nicely caramelized, and the edges should pull slightly away from the pan. At the 45 minute point you may want to add a little more glaze to the top of the meatloaf.  
  6. Rest and Serve:  Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.  The allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
